  • Deep clean and full gear relubrication
  • Corrosion treatment
  • Minor gear repair
  • Stuck hardware removal

• Complex Restoration: $195 - $275
  • For units requiring structural repair, gear replacement, wiring repair, or multi-hour electrical troubleshooting.
  • Quoted after full diagnostic

Most repairs fall between $125 and $195 plus shipping.

2. If accepted, submit the $35 diagnostic deposit.
3. Ship the unit after receiving shipping instructions.
4. I perform a full diagnostic and confirm the final service tier.
5. After completion, you receive photos or video confirmation.
6. Pay remaining balance and return shipping.

• How long does repair take?
  • Typical turnaround time is 2–3 weeks after the unit arrives. Complex restorations may take longer.
• When should I ship my Walkman?
  • Only ship after submitting the $35 diagnostic deposit and receiving shipping instructions.
• Do I need to send headphones or accessories?
  • No. Send only the cassette player unless an accessory is directly related to the issue.
  • You may remove loose battery covers before shipping to prevent loss.
• What if my unit cannot be repaired?
  • If the unit is not repairable, the diagnostic deposit covers inspection time. Return shipping can be arranged if you would like the unit returned.
• Will it be like new?
  • My goal is full mechanical restoration and reliable operation. Cosmetic wear from age may remain.
• Do you repair car cassette players or home stereos?
  • At this time I focus on portable cassette players such as Sony Walkman models. Car stereos and large home decks are evaluated case by case.
• Do you repair cassettes?
  • No. I repair cassette players only.
• Can I drop it off locally?
  • All repairs are handled by mail. Local drop-offs are not available at this time.
• Do you replace capacitors?
  • Capacitor replacement and advanced electronic repair fall under Complex Restoration and are quoted after diagnostic.
• Can I send a video of the issue?
  • Yes. Video can be helpful, but a full diagnosis is performed once the unit is received.
